biography Expensive Soul are a musical group from Leça da Palmeira, formed by António Conde, known as Demo (MC), and Tiago Novo, known as New Max (singer/MC/musician/producer). The group emerged in 1999, but only in 2004 did it become known to the general public, with the release of its first album, B.I., and its first hit, "Eu Não Sei". Expensive Soul's musical style is difficult to categorize, as it combines several genres, from soul and reggae to R&B and hip-hop. The group also has a strong organic component, especially since the second album, Alma Cara (2006). In their live performances, the duo is accompanied by the Jaguar Band, a complete band with bass, drums, choirs, guitars, keys and percussion. The group released three more studio albums: Utopia (2010), Sonhador (2014) and A Arte das Musas (2019). In these albums, the group explored new sounds and influences, always maintaining the Expensive Soul identity. The group also participated in several projects and collaborations with other artists, such as Boss AC, Paulo Gonzo, Áurea and Dino D’Santiago. Expensive Soul are a group that stands out for their originality, creativity and musical quality. His songs are full of humor, irony, social criticism and emotion. New Max's voice is the central element of the group, but Demo also contributes with his rhymes and interventions. Expensive Soul are a group that represents Portuguese culture with a touch of modernity and innovation.
