Biography
biography DJ Kura, whose real name is Rúben de Almeida Barbeiro, is a Portuguese electronic music DJ and producer, born in Leiria, in 1987, and started playing in clubs and quickly stood out for his technique and musical selection, performing alongside names like Paul Oakenfold, Tony Humphries, Roger Sanchez and Danny Tenaglia. In 2011, he released his first single on Revealed Recordings, Hardwell's label, called “Ammonia”. From then on, he began to gain notoriety and perform at various festivals and clubs, both in Portugal and abroad. He mixes several musical genres, such as electro house, big room house and jungle terror, creating a unique and energetic sound. In 2014, he was considered the best Portuguese DJ by DJ Mag magazine. In 2015, he released his first album, “Colours”, which featured artists such as Tony Junior, Laidback Luke and Hardwell. The album had several hit singles, such as “Collide”, “Calabria” and “Bounce”. In 2016, he released his second album, “Revelation”, which included songs such as “Tora”, “Bangalore” and “Police”. In 2017, he released his third album, “Hydra”, which had the singles “Savage”, “Paper Roses” and “Loki”. In addition to being a DJ and producer, DJ Kura is also a remixer, having worked for artists such as Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, NERVO and Tiësto. DJ Kura is co-founder of the label KURA Music Group, which he created in 2018 with the aim of supporting new talents in electronic music. DJ Kura is considered one of the best Portuguese DJs of all time and one of the most respected in the world of electronic music, he performs regularly in Portugal and abroad, showing his passion for music and the public
